Faire Themes

So, here are the Faire themes I've worked on...

Working Title:
Legend of Zelda

Main Characters:
Zelda
Link (Zelda's Champion)
Ganon

Other Characters:
Navi (herald)
Malon (farmer)
The Sages
Impa (nurse to Zelda)
Dampe
Saria

Opening:
Ganon has Triforce of Power; Zelda has Triforce of Wisdom; Link has Triforce of Courage.  Deku, the old king has been murdered and a new king must be found.  All three Triforces must be pledged to the new king.

Chessboard I:
Ganon wants to be king and Challenges Zelda for her Triforce of Wisdom.
Ganon wins!
Zelda refuses to give him the Triforce of Wisdom and instead divides it into (8?) pieces and gives to the Sages.  She instructs them to surrender these pieces to No One.
Link, as the Champion, must recover these pieces at teh Fight Show in order to challenge Ganon

Fight Show:
Link acquires the pieces by defeating all holders (melee, individual fights, verbally, ect.)
Announces his challenge to Ganon to meet at Chessboard II.

Chessboard II:
Link now has Triforce of Wisdom and Courage.  He challenges Ganon for the Triforce of Power, and kingship for Zelda.
Link wins! and retrieves the Triforce of Power.

Closing:
Link gives Triforce of Power to Zelda, and reiterates his pledge as her Champion with the Triforce of Courage.
Zelda becomes king and everybody is happy.  Let's go dance!

Notes:
- The Legend of Zelda is simply a working title.  Please keep inmind that it was used as a framework only and some or all names can be changed

On the Triforce
- The Triforce would most likely not remain a "Triforce", but rather symbols of something else.
-- Wisdom: Patons of nobility
-- Courage: The pledge of a Champion
-- Power: The army

On the Sages:
- Using the Sages as characters allows more people to have the option of individual fights
- Sets a well defined line of "good/evil" for the audience to follow
- Gives members the ability to have a more major role in Faire, without having to be on cast.

This plot works well because:
- None of the 3 cast characters are gender specific
- It is a questing story that is open to interpretation and can be filled out as the Guild decides

Working Title:
Taming of the Shrew

Main Characters:
Kat (shrew)
Bianca (beautiful daughter)
Baptista (girls' father)
Petruchio (Kat)
Lucentio (Bianca)
Gremhort (suitor)

Other Characters:
other Bianca suitors
ladies-in-waiting

Opening:
Baptista declares Biance cannot marry until Kat does.  Gremhort protests and demands to court her.

Chessboard I:
Gremhort vs Baptista.  Baptista wins.  Gremhort has until the fight show to find a suitor for Kat, so he can court Bianca.

Fight Show:
Lucentio persuades Petruchio to court Kat (who is less than happy about this) so he may court Bianca.
Kat fights Petuchio
Lucentio fights all other suitors.  He challenges Gremhort to Chessboard II for Bianca.

Chessboard II:
Lucentio vs Gremhort.  Lucentio wins.

Closing:
Kat marries Petruchio, and Lucentio marries Bianca.

Notes:
- all couples can be gender-reversed, but would still need two couples.

This plot works well because:
- It provides a black and white side, that can both gain the audience's favor.  Neither is really evil.
- Allows for many suitors, and also many ladies-in waiting.
