alright, i've got all the panels of my hoop skirt sewn together. they're small hoops, only 90" around. meg and i weren't exactly sure what we were doing, so it was mostly an experiment. she helped me pattern it and cut stuff out and whatnot. i still have 4 yds of fabric left if this totally doesn't work. as of right now it seems to be though. i've got one channel sewn in and we tried putting some cabnle through it and it worked well, except for the fact that i forgot to backstitch the ends. oops. anyways, it's a skirt. left to do: at least 4 more channels, gathering into waistband, hemming, finish edges, hooks and eyes, prolly other stuff that i don't know about. i was really relaxing to be sewing. that's something i enjoy a lot. i can lose myself in the creation of something that is completely me. it makes me feel like i'm completely in my space. and that's something that no one can ever take away from me. it's just getting there sometimes that's the difficult part. but my space is mine and will always be mine.
