Student Health

Student Health must only have really strong drugs. I have two floor mates who are on strong stuff. Therese is on coedine for a sinus infection, and Taylor is on vicoden for his back. At least Taylor's makes sense, but whatever. Still really strong and addictive. I went to PSA tonight and we talked about confrontations and stuff. It was cool. I walked back with Skye, and we talked about politics. It was cool. Skye is really nice. I have a challenge for myself: I want to make myself an entire new altar, made entirely out of origami. I do need to think of something to represent fire, so if you know anything, lemme know. I guess I could try to learn to fold a flame or something. I'll think on it. Ciao!

Sweet, that's talent. What kind of altar, out of curiousity? Wiccan, or just general?

wiccan based, but with my own personal adaptations. :)

Origami...awesome idea. Very original (at the very least, I've never heard of doing that before). Good luck with that.

i think it definitaly fits all the 'dorm rules'. after all, it's all paper.

Definitely. I doubt it would break any dorm rules. Though, if someone was feeling really bitchy, they could make the argument that it's a fire-hazard, being that it's all paper.

But that's (pardon the pun) paper-thin. And the chances would be greater of me laying an ostrich egg right now than of someone actually making that argument fly.

Funny, and here I was thinking that the best way to represent fire on an origami altar was to simply drop a match on it. :)

Another good way, though, is to get some yellow paper and fold it up, or maybe orange paper. Or yellow paper with orange lines drawn on it.

there is brand of origami paper that has a variegation from it's center to it's corners that looks sometwhat flame-like. Alternately, if you find out how to fold something that looks pleasantly flame-like, you could colour it, unfold it, use that as a pattern to generate a lovely photoshop document, then get that printed at, say, kinko's on a colour laser printer, thereby creating a lovely coloured paper to fold the flame out of. which has the right pattern to make the final product actually look like flames in more than figure.

I have absolutely no creative ideas on how to represent fire. However, a college student with back pain severe enough for vicoden means something more than pack pain, especily if he's on it for more than a week or so. thats my bit.
